Mshengu appeals for load shedding after exam times
Updated | By Lauren Beukes
KwaZulu-Natal Education MEC Kwazi Mshengu has appealed to Eskom to start load shedding after the scheduled exam times.

Mshengu, along with KZN Premier Sihle Zikalala, visited Umlazi Commercial High School to monitor the matric exams on Thursday morning.
Despite the threat of no lights looming over them, he assures over a thousand centres have not been disrupted being by load shedding.
Any disruptions identified is swiftly dealt with by the department.
"In the disruptions that we have experienced over the past days, we have been able to make such interventions and we can report that all learners at least were able to write on time and finish their papers on time.
"But we do want to join the premier to call on communities to respect the examinations to respect the future of their kids, because when you disrupt kids, you are basically disrupting their future.
"There is no one who has the right to disrupt kids from going to school, worse writing examinations.”
Languages, IsiZulu and Xhosa, Paper 1 and Geography paper 1 are being written on Thursday.
