Motsoeneng ‘to study’ pay back the money ruling
Updated | By Nondumiso Dube
Former SABC COO Hlaudi Motsoeneng says he's waiting to receive the judgment in which the High Court has ordered him to pay back the millions he was given by the public broadcaster as a “success fee”.
The
High Court in Johannesburg ruled the decision by the SABC board that was in
place in 2016 to pay Motsoeneng R11.5 million as unlawful and invalid.
It has set the decision aside and says Motsoeneng must return the money, with interest, within seven days.

Motsoeneng was paid the money for his part in negotiating a broadcast deal with Multichoice.
The Special Investigating Unit asked the court to review the payment, saying it was irregular.
Motsoeneng says he still needs to read the judgment.
"I'm checking the findings of the report, I'm still waiting for that ruling, I don't have it.
The High Court has ordered the SABC pension fund to pay the sum, should Motsoeneng not abide by the court order.
