She set up a task team, following claims members of teachers' union SADTU have been selling principal and deputy principal posts across the country, including in KwaZulu-Natal.

Motshekga is now studying the task team's first report which has been submitted to her.

Department spokesperson Elijah Mhlanga says the findings will be revealed soon.

"That investigation also has a forensic component to it, which is undertaken by a private company that is not contracted to do the work. So, it is a thorough process there as well. We are now at the point where the minister will go through the report and make the decision known," he said.
