Motorists worry as another fuel hike is on the cards

Some KZN locals have described the latest petrol price increase as unbearable. This follows news of the latest fuel price hikes, which kicks in on Tuesday.
The Energy Department said that a weaker Rand is partly to blame for petrol going up by 85 cents a litre and diesel by 87 cents per litre.
Some KZN motorists say they'te worried.
"Prices of everyday goods are going to shoot up. The poor are once again going to be the ones who will feel the brunt of it the most," a Durban motorist said.

"This will have a negative impact on the economy. People will become more aware of their expenses - they would have to dig deeper into their pockets," one Durban woman said.
"The fact that we've hit a record high isn't going to help our economy. It's pretty drastic - I don't know how many struggling people are going to survive," a Durban mans adds.
Illuminating paraffin will increase by 82 cents a litre. The AA’s Layton Beard has given this advice to people.
"We would suggest that you keep your car in a good condition - make sure that it's running optimally and using the right amount of fuel. Use your vehicle when you need to use your vehicle. If you can, walk or use a bicycle to get to a destination if it's close enough. Reliable public transport is also an option. Something else people can consider is carpooling," Beard said.
