The Road Traffic Inspectorate in KZN says motorists driving through areas with heavy snowfall need to be cautious, as the roads are slippery and dangerous.
So far, snow has been confirmed in the southwestern parts of the province, including the KZN Midlands, Bosten, Impendle and Underberg.
The Inspectorate's Zinhle Mali says they are in the process of closing some of the roads.
"The R617 Kings Cole as you proceed towards Kokstad is closed to traffic due to snow on the roadway.
"One truck has slid of the roadway. People must make use of the N2. The R617 Bosten area is now and we are about to close it."

Residents across Johannesburg have taken to social media to share their insights of what they believe is snow falling on Monday morning.
Today is the coldest day so far this year.
South African Weather Services (SAWS) forecaster Ishmael Moyo, said inland provinces are now feeling the impact of that massive cold front that hit coastal areas over the weekend and brought snow to the peaks of the mountains.
He forecast no snow for Gauteng.
