Motorists can expect some relief at pumps next week – AA
Updated | By Lauren Beukes
Motorists can expect to save a little bit when filling up from next week.
The Automobile Association says those who use petrol are likely to spend R2.35 cents less for a litre.
Diesel is predicted to go down by 77 and 87 cents per litre, while the price of illuminating paraffin is expected to decrease by around 82 cents a litre.
The association says international oil prices are the main driver behind the expected decreases.
The AA's Layton Beard says while this price drop is welcome, the cost of fuel is still higher when compared to January.

He says it continues to impact the economy and financial health of South Africans.
"As an organisation and association that is geared towards consumers and protecting consumer rights, we'd like to see a situation where consumers are a little bit more buffered against these rising costs and that's what we have been asking for - a review of the fuel price as long as we have.
"Things need to happen in terms of mitigating factors that can deal with these rising costs more effectively than what we are doing at the moment. For us, that is where a lot energy needs to be expended in terms of finding what those mitigating factors are."
Beard says the AA is again calling on government to urgently initiate a transparent review of the fuel prices.
