Motorist hit by truck, killed after car breaks down on Durban highway

A motorist, whose car had broken down on the N2 highway in Durban has died after being struck by a truck.
Rescue Care's Garrith Jamieson says the man had stopped near Umgeni Road.
"It is alleged that the single vehicle had broken down and move into the yellow lane and there was a man that was exiting the vehicle when the truck collided into him. The driver of the vehicle sustained major injuries and unfortunately there was nothing that paramedics could do for him and he was declared deceased on the scene. The truck driver was uninjured," he says.
Police are investigating the crash.
