Motorist and officer hurt in N2 protest
Updated | By Shaun Ryan
Two people are receiving treatment following accidents linked to protest action earlier on the N2 near Lamontville, south of Durban.

Two vehicles collided after the drivers apparently tried to avoid burning tyres at around 6am.
ER24 says one person suffered moderate injuries.
Spokesperson Werner Vermaak says a secondary collision then occurred on a nearby bridge when protestors again started burning tyres.
Vermaak says a law enforcement officer was hurt.
''A law enforcement official who was standing on the bridge at the time indicated to paramedics that he tried to avoid being hit by the vehicles and jumped off the side of the bridge. He fell down the embankment and sustained several fractures. He was attended to by paramedics at the scene before being transported to the nearest hospital,'' he said.
The N2 has since been re-opened in both directions in the vicinity of the old Durban International Airport.
However, the M19 is still closed to traffic.
Officers are also monitoring several protests in the Mobeni area also south of Durban.
