Morningside house petrol bombed
Updated | By Lucky Khanyile
Durban police are investigating a case of arson after a home in Morningside was set alight - apparently with a petrol bomb that was thrown inside it.

The fire department battled the blaze for about an hour. The fire started just before midnight at the house on Earl Haig Road.
A woman who was inside the house managed to escape, while her dogs were rescued by firefighters.

The fire department's Xolani Zikhali says the house was completely burnt, while a car also caught fire.
"We also did a primary survey to ensure there was no entrapments. It was not a normal fire where the fire started in the kitchen, maybe you contain it before it spreads to other rooms. In this case, there was actual petrol involved," he said.
