Morningside hijacking suspect briefly in court, identity parade to be held
Updated | By Bernadette Wicks
A 28-year-old Newlands East man arrested in connection with the hijacking and kidnapping of Marta Rubilar in Durban has made his first appearance in court.
Rubilar was attacked by four men in Morningside on Friday morning.
They forced her into the back of her car and drove off with the 55-year-old. She was found - unharmed - in Newlands East and her car was found in KwaMashu a short while after that.
Asibonge Mdlalose's court appearance was a brief one. The State asked for a seven-day remand for an identity parade to be held and the court obliged.

The matter was adjourned until next Tuesday for bail to be considered.
In the meantime, Mdlalose will remain behind bars at the Durban Central Police Station's holding cells.
