Fifty-five-year-old Marta Rubilar was found unharmed in Newlands East - some two hours after she was taken outside her place of work on Powell Road.

Her car was found abandoned a short while later in KwaMashu's C Section.

"The police found her at Newlands East where the suspects dropped her off - near the road. We have opened a case of hijacking as well as kidnapping but there have been no arrests," police spokesperson, Thulani Zwane.

Rubilar's co-worker, Raymond Ings, was at the office at the time of the incident.

"I heard employees shouting - call the police, call the police. I heard our panic button being activated and knew something was drastically wrong. We often have crime in this particular road. We realised a hijacking had taken place and they'd gone off with Marta," Ings said.
