More voting districts to be added: IEC
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
There will be more voting districts for next year's general elections.
KZN has the highest number of VDs that are affected by the redrawn boundaries.
The Independent Electoral Commission has revised the country's voting district boundaries adding new ones, getting rid of some while changing some existing ones.
With the process complete, voting districts have now increased by148 to 23 296.
The commission says the zero-point-six percent increase in VDs is for the improved access and convenience of voters.
It says starting from Monday through October, it's communicating the changes to affected voters who will be assisted to re-register.
KZN has the majority of voting districts that are affected at 774.
