More protests erupt in Pietermaritzburg

Another protest erupted in Pietermaritzburg on Wednesday, this time in Mkhondeni.
It's understood residents of SACCA informal settlement are blockading roads with burning tyres.
Msunduzi municipal spokesperson Thobeka Mafumbatha says the city is trying to find out what the residents are upset about.

"Our security personnel has been dispatched to go and look and to also make sure that the situation is calmed. There is no damage to property in the area.
"SAPS have also been informed of the incident and at this point it is not necessarily clear what are the grievances.
"Once we have received their grievances, then only then we will be able to inform the public of what is happening."
