More police deployed to Isithebe amidst protests

Police have arrested 50 protestors in Isithebe on the KZN north coast after violent protests in the area.
Spokesperson, Thulani Zwane says the protest started late last night with about 3000 people blocking the road with burning tyres and rocks.
The situation has escalated with the group torching factories, trucks and containers around the town centre.

"They were complaining of service delivery as well as the election of candidates in the area. The police are there to assimilate the situation. Right now, we have deployed more manpower to try and diffuse the situation," he said.
