More funds needed in flood-damaged Ladysmith
Updated | By Noxolo Miya
The Alfred Duma Municipality says an additional R1 million is needed to repair damage to Ladysmith's Qedusizi Dam and the Klip River banks, which contributed to the recent floods.

The heavy rains this week left most of the northern KZN town underwater.
There was also mass damage to infrastructure, with roads like the N11 between Ladysmith and Newcastle flooded.
Around 70 people had been evacuated from their homes.

The municipality's Mayor Zama Sibisi says they are approaching local government.
"We are going to engage in the premier’s office and also engage with the Department of Water and Sanitation.
"If we do not have a plan, we will always experience flooding issues."
