More dialogue needed in communities: Youth in Action
Updated | By Anelisa Kubheka
Today marks the end summit focusing on social cohesion in KwaMashu.
The government-led initiative's been largely welcomed by community members following violence in parts of the township this week.
Panicked parents pulled their children out of classrooms after they'd seen messages online that teachers had been taken hostage and some pupils were being abducted at Daluxolo Primary in C-section.
Education officials later dismissed the message as a hoax.

But some residents had already attacked foreign nationals accusing them of plotting to take their children.
Community leader and Youth in Action president, Robert Ndlela says the summit was a step in the right direction.
"Although people still feel like more can be done, we must be a community in dialogue. Here we talk about fake news and the impact of bogus warnings. If we were a community in dialogue - this would not be what it is right now," he said.
