More cold fronts ahead as seasons change: SAWS

The SA Weather Service says areas along the north coast enjoyed the highest amount of rainfall since Sunday compared to other parts of KZN.

Forecaster, Stacy Coleborne says a cold front has passed through the province, marking the change in seasons.
Durban has recorded 160mm of rainfall since Friday. Richards Bay has received 121ml of rain, Zululand - 226ml, Mandeni - 133ml and Charters Creek gained 125ml of rain.
Lennox Mabaso, who's with the Co-operative Governance Department, says disaster management teams have been responding to incidents across the province.

Assisted by the department - at least 200 residents from Mzingwenya, near Richards Bay, were evacuated from their homes as a safety precaution. At least ten mud homes in the Ugu District on the south coast were damaged as a result of the heavy rains.
"The Ugu District Municipality was also not spared. There are several houses that were damaged in the Umdoni Local Municipality," he said.
Meanwhile, Umgeni Water's Shami Harichunder says despite the heavy rainfall in parts of the province - the 15% water restrictions remain in place. Listen below.
