The country is marking Child Passenger Safety Week from 19 to 26 September.
A company that manufactures car seats says that road crashes remain the number one causes of fatalities among children under the age of 10.
This despite laws in place saying that children aged three and under must be strapped into a car seat.
Mohammed Kaka, who's with manufactor Maxi Cosi, says 93% of motorist flout this regulation.
He feels more education is needed.
"What we generally came to have is that after the collision, parents actually realise that 'hold on I did not do enough to secure my child down and what I could have avoided’."
"Children suffer neck and spinal injuries. Sometimes its often too late as well."
