More than 200 drivers arrested in Durban
More than 200 drivers have been arrested in and around Durban on drunk driving charges since the beginning of the month.
Metro police say they are pleased with their festive season operation so far. They have been monitoring key points across the city.
Metro police spokesperson Parbhoo Sewpersad says their efforts are proving successful.
"In terms of enforcement we have issued more than 16 000 notices", he said.
"The plan we have will stay in place as it has proven to work well in terms of crime prevention, motor patrol, blue light patrols etc. We have also intensified our roadblock efforts", Sewpersad said.
