Mop-up operations continue in flood-hit Ladysmith
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Mop-up operations are continuing in Ladysmith after the town experienced flooding again due to heavy rain.

The Alfred Duma Municipality says streets within the lower-lying areas of the CBD have been submerged since Tuesday.
It says stormwater outlets have been unable to release water into the Klip River because of its very high levels.
According to district officials, all rivers and dams recorded an increase in the volume of water levels yesterday.
The Uthukela District Municipality spokesperson Jabulani Mkhonza says another problem has arisen from the flooding leaving some residents without water.

"The Utukela River has come down with debris which is now hampering our abstraction process at the Ezakheni Water Treatment Works.
"We have since seen three out of six pumps failing because of this problem. We have a professional service provider on-site working around the clock conducting repairs."
"The areas that are affected by water supply shortages include Ezakheni, Acacia Valley, Aloe park, Rose park and Steadville."
