US mom appeals to brands to include children with disabilities
Updated | By ECR Newswatch
The mother of a toddler with Down Syndrome has appealed to brands to also feature children with disabilities in their advertisements.
This comes after 27-year-old Meagan Nash - from Atlanta, America - submitted images of her 15-month-old son for a casting for a children's clothing brand to which she received no reply.
Upon inquiry, an agent said the advertiser didn't specify that they were casting for a special needs child.

Nash shared her story on a Facebook page she created in honour of her son, Asher's Down Right Perfect calling for the inclusion of all children, particularly those with disabilities and genetic conditions, and little Asher's story went viral.
Featured on Kids with Down Syndrome's Facebook page - the initial post accumulated over 125 000 shares.
Speaking to ABC News, Nash said "Our children are the future just like anybody's child."
Down Syndrome Awareness Month (October) has drawn to an end with efforts to raise awareness that Down Syndrome isn't a disease but occurs when there's additional genetic material in the body. It's also one of the most common genetic conditions.
