Mogane disputes assault claims in Senzo Meyiwa trial

Witness in the Senzo Meyiwa trial Sergeant Vusumuzi Mogane has disputed arguments by the defence that accused two Bongani Ntanzi was assaulted by police at the time he allegedly confessed about the football star's death.

Defence advocate Thulani Mngomezulu told the High Court in Pretoria on Tuesday that Ntanzi was suffocated with a piece of plastic and electrocuted by police at the time of his arrest in June 2020.

But Mogane, one of the police officers who arrested Ntanzi, says that didn't happen.
"I dispute that because the rate at which he claims to have been assaulted, he would have been taken to hospital or he would have said something about it but I for one dispute that."
