Moerane report to be made public next week

The Moerane Commission's report on political killings in KwaZulu-Natal is expected to be made public soon.
Community Safety MEC, Mxolisi Kaunda announced yesterday that Premier Willies Mchunu would present the report in the Legislature in Pietermaritzburg next week.
Kaunda had been speaking during a briefing with Police Minister, Bheki Cele in Durban yesterday.
After a series of delays, the long-awaited report was submitted to the Premier's Office in June.
There had been some uncertainty whether it was going to be released for public consumption.

"The Premier is guided by the Commissions Act. Since he received the report, he needed to process the report with the relevant Portfolio Committee within 21 days. The Premier will present the report in the KZN Legislature next week Thursday. Those are the processes unfolding," he said.
