Mop-up operation after crash on N3 in PMB

A clean-up crew was busy clearing the scene of a serious truck crash after a massive fire that affected both sides of the N3 in Ashburton in Pietermaritzburg.

The Department of Transport says two trucks collided early on Thursday morning. One of the trucks was transporting paraffin.

It says the congestion has increased, and other routes, including the R103 and R603, were affected.
The mop-up operation was expected to take hours.
