Mmusi Maimane resigns from DA and Parliament

Mmusi Maimane has announced that he
has also resigned as a Democratic Alliance (DA) member, and as a Member of Parliament on Thursday.
Maimane, who stepped down as DA leader on Wednesday at a media briefing at the party's headquarters in Johannesburg, tweeted his decision to leave the party.

He says he has worked tirelessly to build the project of one South Africa for all and that it's been his greatest honour to serve the people of the country, and will continue to do so.

On Wednesday, DA federal chairperson, Athol Trollip also announced his resignation from his position.
Earlier this week, Herman Mashaba quit as Johannesburg mayor, and as a member of the DA.
