Fifty-eight members of the country's third-biggest political party, uMkhonto weSizwe will take their oaths after boycotting the first sitting amid allegations of election rigging.

The MK members being sworn in include former Western Cape Judge President John Hlophe, who was impeached for gross misconduct earlier this year.

The National Assembly consists of 18 different political parties, most of which form part of the new national government of unity.

Al Jama-ah, with its two seats, was the latest to join the government of national unity.

Its leader, Ganief Hendricks, said he is worried about the DA's impact on government policy.

"That was important for Al Jama-ah to be around the table to make sure they don't get up to their mischief."

President Cyril Ramaphosa is reportedly close to finalising his new cabinet, which will reflect the parties in the GNU.

The African Transformation Movement has vowed to steer clear of the political pact with its leader, Vuyo Zungula, also worried about policy direction.

"It is based on ideological and policy-opposed different political parties. Nothing about what needs to be done for the betterment of our county."
