Mkhize calls on doctors to apply for posts
Updated | By Nothando Mkhize
Health Minister, Dr Zweli Mkhize has reassured the country's health workers that the Cuban medical professionals, who flew into South Africa this week, are not here to take anyone's job.
More than 200 health specialists arrived on Sunday to support government's efforts to curb the spread of COVID-19.

Mkhize says these doctors are reinforcements to help fight coronavirus.
"The Cuban doctors are coming at our request to reinforce because they got particularly strength in the case of community medicine. That is where South Africa is very weak."
He says these doctors will be deployed in COVID-19 hotspot provinces.
"We have 26 doctors who are allocated to the Western Cape. Gauteng will have 29. KwaZulu-Natal will have about 28. Eastern Cape will have about 20. Every province will have a specialist from Cuba ."
He's also called on qualified and registered doctors to apply for posts - as government needs all hands on deck.
"It is important for them to contact their own province. A few provinces have been issuing adverts, calling for doctors to come on board and make applications. We have been looking for more doctors."
