Mkhambathini councillor gunned down

The Mkhambathini Municipality outside Pietermaritzburg is mourning the loss of one of its youngest councillors.
Kwazi Mkhize was gunned down as he left the Nkanyezini Community Hall, where he'd attended a meeting last night.
The Hawks are investigating the the murder and no arrests have been made.

Mayoral spokesperson Buyi Mthiyane the municipality is in shock.
"We are very saddened and shocked at the news of our councillor, Kwazikwakhe Mkhize. It is unbelievable, such a young man, 34 years of age, vibrant, very hard working. Its unbelievable to us. We are on the way now as councillors and staff members to go and visit the family and mourn with them," she said.
