MK Vets threaten to disrupt elections over demands
Updated | By Andrew Robertson
MK Vets are threatening to disrupt the upcoming local government elections if their demands are not met.

It was a go-slow on the N3 between Durban and Pietermaritzburg this morning.
The vets' convoy of about 40 vehicles left Durban travelling at 40 km per hour on their way to the KZN Legislature.
They are expected to hand over a memorandum to the Speaker and Premier at any moment now.
The vets have accused the government of dragging its feet about their demands for jobs and housing - among other things.

One of the coordinators Lwazi Mzobe: "After we engaged with the national government we ended up able to compare the document whereby government agrees to set in point that we are within our memorandum submitted to our president.
"After that, the president on the 22nd of December 2020, came and endorsed the document that must be implemented by January," he says.
"What frustrated us is that since then we have no proper engagement or direction from the government because the national government wants to implement the document. We want to inform the speaker and premier to say this document can't be implemented without us."
