The uMkhonto weSizwe party has removed Bonginkosi Khanyile as its interim youth leader.
MK Secretary-General Sihle Ngubane says the Fees Must Fall activist will now be an ordinary member of the new party's youth league.
He says there's no special reason for the decision.

"We are all appointed interim. We are serving solely to take the party to the 29 May elections so anyone can be removed and installed.
"Tomorrow, anyone can be removed for no reason, provided they see that you are producing results or you are not producing results. To us, there is no conflict that we are aware of."
Khanyile, who is set to go on trial in June for his alleged role in the July 2021 unrest, was previously an EFF student activist.
