Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Emergency teams on Thursday recovered the body of a Verulam boy from a swimming pool, just a few doors away from his home.

It is alleged that five-year-old Mvelo Gumede disappeared while he was playing outside his house on Wednesday night.
A search began and extended into the early hours of this morning.
Reaction Unit South Africa, which took part in the emergency operation, says they were informed that a child had been found in a neighbour's swimming pool.
Paramedics found the little boy lying in the water.
Rusa says Gumede appeared to have suffered injuries to his face.
He was declared dead at the scene.
