Missing Newcastle teen found dead at Durban's beachfront

The body of a Newcastle teenager who went missing from the Durban beachfront on Sunday has been found.

The 17-year-old's body was spotted in the surf yesterday.
Officers from SAPS Search and Rescue Unit and Durban Metro Police were called out to recover the body.

"Members of Durban Search and Rescue and Metro Police recovered the body of a seventeen year-old boy who is said to be from Newcastle.
"The information that we have is that he is part of the rugby team that came to Durban for a camp. An inquest docket has been opened for investigation," police spokesperson, Thembeka Mbhele said.
