Minister Mantashe and wife test positive for COVID-19

The Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, Gwede Mantashe
and his wife Nolwandle Mantashe, have tested positive for COVID-19.
Minister in the Presidency, Jackson Mthembu, says this was the third time since the outbreak in the country, that Mantashe was tested.
Mantashe and his wife are currently in isolation and the Minister will continue to work from home.
"The Minister remains committed to a course of ensuring security of energy and petroleum products supply to society during this difficult period and beyond.

The Minister has directed all members of his private office in government to also test," says Mthembu.
The African National Congress (ANC) says Mantashe will also continue with his duties as the party’s National Chairperson.
" We commend the National Chairperson for directing all members of his private office in Government to also undergo testing," says ANC Deputy Secretary General, Jessie Duarte.
