Military funeral to be held for slain SANDF soldier

The family of South African soldier and Ladysmith resident, Nomathemba Ngeleka, will soon be able to lay her rest.

Her body was repatriated from the DRC at the weekend.
27-year-old Ngeleka was allegedly shot by her ex-boyfriend last month.
The SANDF says a military funeral will be held in her honour.

"They've already started to give counselling to close friends and people who were working with Nomathemba," says spokesperson, Mafi Mgobozi.
Mgobozi says Ngeleka's ex-boyfriend, also a soldier, remains in a critical but stable condition.
Charges of murder are due to be laid.
