Midlands N3 crash claims one life

One person has been killed in a crash on the N3 near Tweedie in the KZN Midlands.
Two vehicles collided on the northbound carriageway at about 6am.
KZN Emergency Medical Services' Robert Mckenzie says police will investigate the circumstances leading to this fatal crash.
"The collision involved a car and a bakkie and subsequent to the collision, both vehicle caught alight. Sadly one person sustained fatal injuries in this crash.
"The exact cause of the crash is not known at this stage and it's going to be investigated by police," he said.
Meanwhile, two bakkies transporting school pupils in Zululand have crashed near Ceza - leaving dozens of children hurt.
KZN Emergency Medical Services' Robert Mckenzie says the accident happened on the R66.
"Paramedics from KZN Emergency Medical Services responded to the crash and treated children at the scene of the crash as well as at a local clinic where some of the children had been transported prior to paramedics arriving.
"A total of 31 children were injured in the crash and seven of those were critically injured," he said.
