Midlands Meander Association slams racist Sodwana guesthouse
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
The Midlands Meander Association says it is unacceptable that some accommodation venues are still refusing service to people based on race.

Reacting to reports that the Sodwana Bay Guest House on the north coast has a policy to not accommodate black people or government officials, the association says some people have not kept up with change in South Africa.
The Midlands Meander's Stuart Tompkins says such incidences should not be tolerated.
''People will now see that, much like the Penny Sparrow incident, it's an isolated individual who hasn't got the picture in the last 25 years. I really don't think as a sector we would be concerned about it, so much as disturbed by it,'' he said.
The owner of the guesthouse reportedly said segregation is God's will.
Meanwhile, KZN's MEC for Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs Sihle Zikalala has ordered officials to investigate the claims.
A screenshot of an email from the owner to a prospective customer caused a storm on social media yesterday.
