Merc-driving ‘Woolies looter’ to change guilty plea
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
A Durban man captured on camera apparently making off with looted groceries during the riots has backtracked on his intention to plead guilty.
Mbuso Moloi handed himself over to police last month after a video showed a man carrying a basket out of a Woolworths store in Essenwood and loading it into his car.
He was back in the Durban Magistrate's Court on Thursday after being granted bail last week.
National Prosecution Authority KZN spokesperson Natasha Kara says the matter has been postponed to October.

"Moloi advised the court that he no longer wanted to plead guilty.
"The state asked for reporting conditions to be added to his previous bail condition, which was that he surrender his passport and not to leave the province of KwaZulu-Natal without consulting with the investigating officer.
"He must now also report to the Pinetown Police Station every Wednesday and Sunday, between 6am and 6pm."
