Deyzel had been having a braai with family and friends at the time - when the assailants cut a hole in the fence and attacked them.
He was shot - while his guests were tied up and robbed of valuables.
Family spokesperson, Cameron Gordon, says the support they have received in their time of need - has been overwhelming.
"The community has been amazing. People have been in and out all day here yesterday, the day before, this morning - bringing food, offering condolences, and just offering any help in any way they can. And as part of the family, we're incredibly grateful," he said.
