Melmoth driving licence examinators in court for fraud

Investigators have
vowed to keep a close watch on the day-to-day operations at the Melmoth driving
licence testing centre.

This after 11 examiners lined up in court on Thursday on charges of driving licence fraud and corruption.
"We will continue monitoring our stations with a view of making sure that all those who have driver’s licences and learners are people who have undergone serious tests."
KZN Transport's Kwanele Ncalane says two examiners were granted bail of R5,000 each, while the other nine forked out R1,000 each.

He says more arrests can be expected.
"There are more applicants who still believed to be at large who are part of this syndicate."
