Media fires questions at Trump after US-North Korea agreement
Updated | By ECR Newswatch
US President, Donald Trump, has been fielding questions about human rights atrocities in North Korea.
He's speaking to international media in Singapore, just hours after putting his signature to a joint-agreement with the North's leader, Kim Jong Un.
They met behind closed doors this morning - in a historic first summit between the two countries.
The deal aims to create a new relationship between the countries, with North Korea promising to work towards getting rid of nuclear weapons.
Trump's been asked to explain why he's described Kim - the leader of one of the world’s most repressive countries - as "very talented."
Trump also recalled what happened to 22-year-old Otto Warmbier, the American student who died after being detained in North Korea.
"Otto Warmier is a very special person and he will be for a long time in my life. His parents are good friends of mine. Without Otto, this would not have happened. Something happened from that day. It was a terrible thing, it was brutal but a lot of people started to focus on what was going on including North Korea, Trump said.
