MEC urges police to hasten Jozini horror crash probe
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
KZN Transport MEC, Bheki Ntuli has urged police to fast-track their investigation into the cause of a multi-vehicle truck crash that claimed the lives of eight people in Jozini, in northern KZN.

The department says the truck driver - who was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol at the time of the smash - has been detained.
It's understood the driver of the heavy-duty combination truck lost control of the vehicle.
The truck loaded with sugarcane ploughed into several pedestrians, cars, two buses, a minibus taxi and a bakkie - near Jozini Clinic.
Eight people were declared dead on the scene.
Paramedics treated 32 others for moderate to critical injuries.
Speaking to reporters at the scene on Wednesday, Ntuli conveyed his condolences to the victims' families.
"It is a horrible incident for the driver. Whether or not the driver was right in whichever way. The second one would be the truck itself, whether the truck jumped its service.
"We have a team of experts that will give me a report. For now, I'm not going to speculate for both the driver and the truck," he says.
CCTV footage has emerged of the horrific crash.
In the video, from cameras at a petrol station across the road, the truck can be seen coming down a very busy intersection.
It crashes into a car, taxi and pedestrians before coming to a stop.
