McBride, co-accused granted bail
Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
Suspended IPID boss Robert McBride and his two co-accused have appeared briefly in the Pretoria Magistrate's Court.
McBride, Innocent Khuba and Matthews Sesoko were granted bail of R1500.
They face charges of fraud and defeating the ends of justice. The National Prosecuting Authority's Luvuyo Mfaku has been responding to McBride's claims that the charges don't hold water.
"We always ask people to allow criminal justice processes to unfold and come with whatever evidence that they have and use it in court.
"So we are not going to entertain any engagement as far as the merits of the case are concerned. The trial date will be set - we are ready and investigations are completed," he said.
The matter's been postponed until April 15.
