Mbalula: Don’t insult PP over Phala Phala report, go to court
The ANC says it is
happy that President Cyril Ramaphosa has been exonerated of any wrongdoing in
the public protector’s final Phala Phala report.
Secretary-general Fikile Mbalula on Saturday welcomed the report tabled by acting Public Protector Kholeka Gcaleka into the Phala Phala Farm saga on Friday, clearing Ramaphosa of claims that he violated the Executive Members Ethics Code.
Gcaleka released her report after a year of investigation into Phala Phala.
"Should anyone stand against that or think that there is anything untoward in the report who think that's within their right. But we will not because these things must be defined by consistency."
Mbalula made the remarks during his opening address of the ANC Youth League’s 26th national elective conference in Nasrec, south of Johannesburg

He says while they respect the outcome of the courts, anyone unhappy with the report's findings must take the legal steps to have it reviewed.
" If you disagree with the public protector, you must go to court. Don't insult her because she's a woman because you expect her to agree with you. You put the facts before the judge, and they judge the outcome. That's why the decisions of the public protector can be reviewed."
