The South African Civic Organisation wants the SA Human Rights Commission to investigate possible hate speech after Matthew Theunissen allegedly posted a racist rant on Facebook.

In the post, Theunissen wrote: "So no more sporting events for South Africa.. I've never been more proud than to say our government are a bunch of k******.. yes I said it so go f**** yourselves you black ****ing c****".

The Capetonian's comment was made about Sports Minister Fikile Mbalula's decision to ban sporting bodies, SA Rugby, Cricket South Africa and Athletics SA from bidding to host for international events due to lack of transformation.

The organisation has joined the chorus of people condemning the post while #MatthewTheunissen has been trending on social media following the incident.

Online users have since found his online profile which has shown that he obtained a Master’s degree in environmental management from the Stellenbosch University and is originally from Durban.

This comes as Rhodes Must Fall activist, Ntokoza Qwabe took to Facebook to share an incident where he and a friend refused to tip a waitress, and instead wrote "We will give tip when you return the land" on the bill. The waitress has reportedly received R100 000 in donations after the incident trended.
