Matrics subjected to same quality exams, assures Motshekga

Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga says this year’s matriculants will be subjected to the same quality of exams as previous years.
More than 1 million grade 12s are expected to sit for the combined examinations for Senior Certificate and National Senior Certificate (NSC) from Thursday.
“It should be noted that despite the abnormal context, the Class of 2020 will be subjected to the same high quality of examination that previous cohorts were subjected to, as the department has not made any changes to the exam papers, which were already set in 2019,” says Motshekga.

Motshekga says this group of matriculants should know that they are a unique class due to the disruptions caused to the academic year by the Covid-19 pandemic.
"I wish them well and they should know that they are a unique class of 2020 when there was Covid-19. I am saying to them they must focus and give it their best and they should know they are a special class and not an ordinary class."
