Matric results shouldn't be used as contest between provinces - Sadtu

Nomusa Cembi says the matric results should not be made a contest among
the provinces.

"The uneven performance of provinces has nothing to do with the learners and the quality of teaching, but it has to do with the uneven distribution of resources.”
Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga announced the matric pass rate on Monday.

The class of 2020 achieved 76.2% - a drop of 5.1%from the previous year.
The Free State achieved the best pass rate among the nine provinces with 85%, followed by Gauteng at 83.3% and Western Cape with 79.9%.
