Matric results: Helpline for matric pupils, parents
Updated | By Khatija Nxedlana
The Department of Social Development has opened up its Gender Based Violence Command Centre to matric pupils who will be receiving their results this week.
The 2015 matric pass rate will be announced tomorrow evening while the matric results will be available in newspapers from Wednesday morning.
The Department's Lumka Oliphant says the helpline was originally created to assist victims of gender-based violence but has now been opened to matric students.
Oliphant says last year numerous calls were received from matric students and their parents.
"We understand that at this time when matrics are waiting for their results, they are very anxious. We want to be there for those who may not have made it.
"[This is] to also talk to parents who may be having difficulty with how to deal with their children who may not have made it," she said.
The call centre can be reached on 0800 428 428 or dial *120*7867#.
