The bail application for five of seven of the accused continued in the Durban Magistrates Court on Monday.

Accused number four, Mziwethemba Gwabeni, responded to the State's case that over R800 000 was transferred into his account a day after the Forbes and Motsoane were shot dead on Durban's Florida Road.

Last month, the lead detective told the court that the money had been traced to a company whose sole director is a businessman, Mfunda Gcaba.

At the start of his bail hearing, Gwabeni insisted the money he received was for legitimate work he did for the company.

In his response to the State's arguments, Gwabeni on Monday asked why Gcaba was not one of his co-accused.

He also questioned why the State has not disclosed why he hasn't yet been arrested.

Separately, in a statement, the Gcaba family maintains the payment made to Gwabeni was part of a business deal.
