Massive Durban sinkhole swallows family, car

A giant sinkhole has partially swallowed a car in Malvern, south of Durban.

The vehicle, carrying four family members, plunged into the sinkhole and became stuck on the corner of Main and Ridley Park roads on Tuesday morning.
ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson says they were treated for various injuries.

"Paramedics found that local towing operators had rescued a family a four out of the waters. The vehicle had submerged in a massive sinkhole.
"Paramedics and assessed and found that the four occupants, two adults and two children, had sustained minor to moderate injuries as a result of the crash and treated them on scene before transporting them to Durban hospitals."
