Manhunt for suspects involved in Isipingo shootout
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Police have launched a manhunt for two people involved in a fatal shootout with police in Isipingo, south of Durban.

Members of a local crime task team were conducting patrols in the Malukazi area in the early hours of the morning yesterday (Fri) when they spotted a bakkie with traces of blood on the back.
Detectives say the driver ignored their requests to pull over and sped off, leading to a chase between the two. When the bakkie eventually came to a stop, police say a shootout broke out between the three men and the Isipingo officers.
A suspect believed to have been in his 40s was hit and died at the scene - his accomplices ran away.
Detectives then discovered they’d been transporting the carcass of a cow. It’s emerged that the vehicle was stolen in the Brighton Beach area in August.
Police are investigating cases of attempted murder, possession of firearm and possession of suspected stolen property.
